Hello, I am Sophie
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Zurich, Switzerland.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Switzerland wasn’t part of our long-range plan. As with many international relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more challenging than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was cultural shock, doubt, and plenty of learning on the fly. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, met other families, and began building something that felt solid.
Why I Created ElusavQuenMira
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Switzerland.
What This Site Is About (And What It Isn’t)
This site Includes:
- Hands-on experience from living in Switzerland
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site Is NOT:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Switzerland continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Zurich or anywhere in Switzerland, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Best regards,
Sophie
